Remuneration: Commencing annual salary at $64,575 plus superannuation (pro rata)

Role Overview

The Tin Can Bay Library is situated in the coastal township of Tin Can Bay and operates:

Monday and Wednesday: 9am – 12.30pm

Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 9am – 5pm

Saturday 8.30am – 11.30am

Library clients have free access to library services which include: borrowing items from across the Gympie Regional Libraries network, utilising the computers, accessing free wifi and a range of library programming events and activities.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and customer service focused individual to work at our Tin Can Bay Library on a permanent part-time basis for 30.5 hours per week during library operating hours, and every third Saturday for 3.5 hours on a rostered basis. Following training at Gympie and Tin Can Bay Libraries you will begin working as part of the team at Tin Can Bay Library.

In this position you will be responsible for providing and promoting the library and its services to the community while delivering a high quality customer focused service to the patrons of the library as per Council's policies and procedures.

What we are looking for

To be successful in this position, you will need to have:

  • experience in or knowledge of modern library practices, procedures and responsibilities
  • experience in working in a team environment as well as the ability to work successfully autonomously
  • digital literacy skills, including word processing and research skills
  • working with children check - Blue card or ability to obtain a blue card prior to commencement.
